Why attend this training webinar?

Many years ago, I inherited the responsibility of authoring Safety Data Sheets for my organisation. Although I was already familiar with Safety Data Sheets, the thought of writing one filled me with dread!

Since then I have written many Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and I have been teaching courses on writing SDS for quite a few years.

One thing I always emphasise on my courses is that the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is the most important document(in relation to health and safety) that you will provide for your customer and workforce. It is, therefore, vital that the SDS is complete, concise and above all, correct. This has also been highlighted in the recent ECHA Forum Report on Improvement of Quality of SDS (May 2019)

Who this webinar is for

This brand new introductory training webinar is designed to give you (SDS authors/recipients of SDS) the skills you need to start writing good quality and importantly, compliant Safety Data Sheets.

The course will also help you evaluate the quality of your supplier SDS which you receive, and ask the right questions when you have concerns.

What this webinar covers

  1. A review of the SDS requirements including responsibilities, when they should be provided and updated.
  2. The 16- sections of the SDS – what they cover and how they are related and key issues to consider.
  3. Useful data sources and how to evaluate data for reliability.
  4. How to improve consistency between each of the respective sections of the SDS

Throughout the webinar, examples will be used to illustrate key points.

Note: Although the focus will be on European SDS, the principles which are taught are applicable to other geographical areas of the world.

Training resources included

    • Training notes complementing the webinar
    • Copy of all slides used during the training
    • Copy of the live recording
    • Certificate of attendance (if required)
    • You can also ask questions at any time during or after the training webinar class
