The International Agency for Research on Cancer  (IARC). This is a portal for International cancer research, cancer epidemiology and genetic databases. Available at http://www.iarc.fr/

Registry of Toxic Effects of Chemical Substances (RTECS). This is a definitive toxicological database with supplemental information pertinent to both the chemical industry and the occupational safety and health community. This technical data is needed to assess workers’ exposures to chemicals, particularly to lesser-known-and-used chemical substances. Available at http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/rtecs/RTECSfeatures.html

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ASTDR). This is a US Federal public health agency and provides detailed information on various chemical substances, together with links to other sites. Highly recommended! This available at http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/

The eCHEM Portal.This is a global portal to information on chemical substances. Available at http://www.echemportal.org/echemportal/index?pageID=0&request_locale=en

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)  Information on Registered Substances. Available from the ECHA website at http://apps.echa.europa.eu/registered/registered-sub.aspx#search

The European Commission Joint Research Report Centre Publications Repository. This provides access to various risk assessment reports which were formerly available at the European Chemicals Bureau (no longer in existence). The Health and Safety Executive website. An invaluable resource for all! Available at http://www.hse.gov.uk/

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) This website provides detailed toxicological information on numerous chemical substances. Available at http://www.hpa.org.uk/HPAwebHome/

The OECD Existing Chemicals Database. This contains a myriad of data related to HPV chemicals and is available at http://webnet.oecd.org/hpv/ui/Default.aspx

The OECD Test Guidelines for Chemicals. This contains all the testing guidance documents for chemicals. Available at the OECD website http://www.oecd.org
